　　 The National Student Orienteering Championship is the highest national student orienteering event sponsored by the Ministry of Education. It is held once a year. It is also the only competition in the country where colleges and middle schools compete on the same field. A total of 283 teams from 106 colleges and universities, 154 middle schools, and 23 surveying and mapping units participated in the competition, with about 2,200 team leaders, coaches, athletes, and referees. Participating units involved 26 provinces and cities, and the scale of the event was huge and the impact was extensive.
