The orienteering team of Gongming Experimental School went to Italy to participate in the world orienteering cross-country championship for middle school students

In the afternoon of May 5, 2011, amid flowers and applause, the launching ceremony of Guangming New Area's preparation for the 2012 Guangdong Provincial Middle School Games and the farewell ceremony of the orientation team of Gongming Experimental School to Italy to participate in the World Orienteering Cross-country Championship for Middle School Students were solemnly held in our school square. The ceremony was attended by Song Jie, Director of the Public Utilities Bureau of Guangming New Area, Li Zhilin, Deputy Director of the Sports Department of the Municipal Sports and Tourism Bureau, Xu Xuelin, Section Chief of the Education Section of the Public Utilities Bureau of Guangming New Area, Bao Xiaohong, Section Chief of the Education Section of the Public Utilities Bureau of Guangming New Area, Liu Huijin, Director of the Education and Scientific Research Center of the New Area, principals of primary and secondary schools in the New Area, parents of students and student representatives.
The ceremony was presided over by Bao Xiaohong, Chief of the Education Section of the Public Utilities Bureau of Guangming New Area. At the ceremony, Director Liu Huijin read out the plan of Guangming New Area to prepare for the 2012 Guangdong Provincial Middle School Games. Li Zhilin, Deputy Director General, read out the decision of the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China and the Orienteering Branch of the Chinese University Sports Association to appoint 10 students from Gongming Experimental School to participate in the Italian World Orienteering Cross-country Championship for Middle School Students.
Later, Qiu Shi and the president of our school delivered a speech in which he placed high hopes on the orienteering team and hoped that they would continue to write a brilliant new chapter. Xiao Zhengchuan, the contestant, and Luo Jieyuan, the coach of the orienteering team, spoke on the stage as the representative of the athletes and the coach, respectively, expressing the confidence and determination of the athletes and coaches to participate in the world orienteering cross-country championship for middle school students. After Mr. Luo's speech, Deputy Director Li Zhilin gave the flag to the team competing in the World Middle School Orienteering Cross-country Championships. All the athletes and coaches solemnly accepted the flag of orienteering and said that they would work hard in the competition and live up to expectations.
After the flag was awarded, Director Song Jie delivered a speech. First of all, on behalf of the Public Utilities Bureau, he expressed his gratitude to the Ministry of Education, the Municipal Bureau of Education and the Bureau of Culture, Sports and Tourism for their support for sports in the Guangming New Area, and asked all primary and secondary schools in the Guangming New Area to pay close attention to the regular teaching of sports and the promotion of orienteering, actively prepare for the 2012 Guangdong Provincial Middle School Games, and further improve the level of orienteering in the New Area, And I wish our school's orienteering team to achieve excellent results in the Italian World Orienteering Cross-country Championship for Middle School Students.
