On August 22, the World Mountain Bike Orienteering Championships opened in Vicenza, Italy. Ding Peng, deputy director of the Air Traffic Control Center of the General Administration of Sport of the People's Republic of China, Zhu Jiancheng, director of the Simulation Department, Xin Yanjun, general manager of Shenzhen Huaruijian Industrial Co., Ltd., and Li Xing, a doctoral student at the Chinese University of Hong Kong, attended the opening ceremony on behalf of the Chinese team. Another player of the Chinese team, Xi'an Wolff Club, could arrive on the 24th due to visa problems.
A total of 30 countries sent teams to participate in the competition.
