The 2010 National Student Orienteering Cross-Road Classic ushered in the preliminary and final of the 100-meter orienteering race at Sanya No.1 Middle School in Hainan Province. In the elite group competition of universities, the representative team of Hunan University won two championships and other awards, becoming the biggest winner of the day.

The 100m orienteering competition was held in the artificial garden of Sanya No.1 Middle School in Hainan Province. Athletes compete in artificial gardens. It is reported that the athletes participating in the preliminary round of the 100-meter orienteering match today are divided into 79 batches, a total of 240 people, and the departure time interval of each batch is 30 seconds. Tang Wanhui, the deputy chief referee of the competition, told reporters that in the preliminary competition, the top 12 of each group will participate in the final. Groups with less than 12 participants can participate in the final as long as the preliminary results are qualified. At 9:00 am, the first batch of athletes set off on time. At about ten o'clock, the preliminary round ended and 133 people entered the finals.
In the elite group competition of colleges and universities, the representative team of Hunan University gained a lot and won many awards, including the men's group champion, the women's group champion, the third place in the men's group and the second place in the women's group. Wu Xijiang, the champion of the men's team, said in an interview that this race is difficult, especially the first point. Because that point is the circulation point, you must sprint with all your strength after the start, and get an overwhelming advantage at the beginning, otherwise it will be difficult to surpass your opponent in the later stage of the race. Compared with the ease in the preliminary round, he felt pressure in the final. He said that the opponents in the final were in the same running line and at the same level, the difficulty naturally increased.

Liang Xiyuan is from Zhongshan Memorial Middle School. This is his third time to participate in the competition in Sanya.
