The National Student Orienteering Referee Training Course and the Student Orienteering Referee Team Construction Forum concluded successfully

On April 30, the four-day national student orienteering referee training course and student orienteering referee team building forum were successfully concluded at Tianjin University of Finance and Economics. More than 30 students from 11 provinces, cities and Hong Kong Special Administrative Region completed the training course and obtained the completion certificate issued by the Chinese Student Orienteering Association. The event was jointly organized by the Tianjin University of Finance and Economics and the Arbitration Committee of the Chinese Students Orienteering Association, and was strongly supported by the Tianjin Municipal Education Commission.
The class opening ceremony was held on the morning of April 27. The opening ceremony was presided over by Professor Zhao Wei, Director of the Sports Training Department of Tianjin University of Finance and Economics and Deputy Secretary-General of the Student Orientation Association. Professor Zhu Lilai, Vice President of Tianjin University of Finance and Economics and Vice President of Student Orientation Association, delivered a welcome speech. Mr. Zhao Xing, Project Director of the Joint Secretariat of Student Sports Association of the Ministry of Education, made an important speech and put forward expectations and requirements to the students. Tang Wanhui, Executive Deputy Secretary-General of China Students Orientation Association, Li Weian (special invitation), Director of the Arbitration Committee of China Students Orientation Association, Zhu Jianqing, and other relevant personnel attended the event. During the three-day study and training, the students will carry out theoretical study on the training of the professional quality of orienteering referees, the organization and management of orienteering events, the rules of orienteering competitions and the referee work process of all links, and carry out practice and assessment on relevant contents. The whole training activity is organized reasonably, teaching is based on talents, teaching and learning are mutually beneficial, and the results are good.
In addition, during the training period, a student orienteering referee team building forum was also held. The participants had a heated discussion on the current national student sports referee work, the difficulties faced in organizing grass-roots orienteering events, and the construction and management of the referee team, and put forward many constructive opinions and suggestions. The holding of the referee training course and forum will play a positive role in further strengthening the construction of the referees team of the student orienteering association, standardizing the organization of student orienteering sports events, improving the professional ethics and professional level of school orienteering referees in China, and cooperating with the preparation of the orienteering events for the 2012 National University Games.
