Announcement of 2014 National Student Orienteering Championship
(No. 1)

Members:
The 2014 National Student Orienteering Championships will be held in Zhenning Buyi and Miao Autonomous County, Anshun City, Guizhou Province in the middle and late July. Located in the fortress of "the belly of Guizhou and the throat of Yunnan", Zhenning is the core scenic spot of Huangguoshu Waterfall, the largest waterfall group in the world. It is a tourist destination for viewing world famous waterfalls, exploring minority cultures, and integrating sightseeing, leisure, and summer resort. In order to make all units fully prepare for the competition and successfully participate in the competition, relevant matters are hereby announced as follows:
1、 Event restricted area
From now on until the end of all competitions, without the written consent of the China Student Orienteering Association, the sports teams and the relevant personnel of the sports teams participating in the 2014 National Student Orienteering Championships except Zhenning County are not allowed to enter the competition area shown in the following figure for relevant training and mapping (only cars are allowed to cross the roads within the restricted area). If found, they will be given a warning as appropriate until they are disqualified.

2、 Introduction to the venue (subject to the actual information of the game map)
1. 100m orienteering
The scale is 1:500, and the contour distance is 1 meter. Refer to the specification ISSOM2007.
Pave hard ground and plastic track field.
Dress advice: short clothes and shorts, no spiked shoes.
2. Short distance race
The scale is 1:4000 or 1:5000, the contour distance is 2.5 meters, and the implementation specification is ISSOM2007.
Mixed terrain, including towns and hills, has good accessibility.
Dress advice: long clothes and trousers, spiked shoes can be worn.

3. Mid-distance race and point race
The scale is 1:10000, the contour distance is 5 meters, and the implementation specification is ISOM2000.
The altitude is about 1300 meters, the drop is about 60-100 meters, and the terrain is hilly, with great fluctuations.
Mixed terrain, including villages, cultivated land (including dry land and paddy fields) and forests, with general accessibility.
Dress advice: wear spiked shoes for long clothes and trousers.

4. Short distance relay race
The scale is 1:4000 or 1:5000, the contour distance is 2.5 meters, and the implementation specification is ISSOM2007.
Mixed terrain, including villages, cultivated land (including dry land and corn land), and forests, has good accessibility.
Dress advice: wear spiked shoes for long clothes and trousers.

5. Team competition
The scale is 1:7500 or 1:10000, and the contour distance is 5 meters. Refer to the specification ISOM2000.
The altitude is about 1200 meters, the drop is about 60-80 meters, and the terrain is hilly, with great fluctuations;
Mixed terrain, including villages, cultivated land (including dry land and paddy fields) and forests, with general accessibility.
Dress advice: wear spiked shoes for long clothes and trousers.

3、 Major changes
According to the research and decision of the competition committee, the referee committee and the secretariat of the branch, the short-distance relay and team competitions of the 2014 National Student Orienteering Championships will take the form of mixed competition between men and women, that is, two men and two women will form a team to participate in the relay and team competitions, and the specific provisions shall be subject to the competition rules.
