On July 10 and July 12, 2014, directional cross-country orientation training and directional cross-country 100-meter race were held at the Left-behind Children's Service Center in Qiaonan Town, Linwei District, Weinan City, Shaanxi Province. About 150 left-behind children experienced the sport. This orienteering activity was fully sponsored by Shenzhen Huaruijian Orienteering Company, and Deng, who came from Beijing Normal University-Hong Kong Baptist University-United International College to teach at the left-behind children's service center, taught relevant orienteering knowledge. The game ended at 10:30 a.m. on July 12. The children find this sport very interesting.
The orientation training on July 10 was the first time that children were exposed to orientation activities. Each child took a different route map and started to find points in batches. Each map has a corresponding direction for each point, and each point has an identification number. After the children ran to the last point, they remembered the number of the last point and compared the answer with the teacher of the main station. Most of the children have successfully completed the orientation training and are also looking forward to the orienteering 100-meter race on July 12.
On July 12, some students went to the playground of the primary school for the 100-meter race. Ten points were arranged on the playground. After the instructor explained the rules of the 100-meter race and demonstrated a 100-meter map in person, the children set out in batches to find points as quickly as possible. The sun is shining, but it can't stop the children's passion to find the points on the map. Finally, the children were given a small directional gift by Hua Ruijian - a small version of the dotted flag, and we took photos next to one of the spots together.
Teacher Zhang, who is in charge of the left-behind children service center, said: "I am very grateful to Hua Ruijian for his targeted sponsorship, which has broadened the children's horizons and increased their horizons. Children's participation in this sport is very beneficial to physical and mental development. She will let more left-behind children understand this sport in the future."
