Xue Yanqing believes that traditional sports schools can have new development ideas in the new era. For example, they can change to the direction of youth training centers. They can also make full use of the teachers of sports schools to meet the needs of all parties and provide social services.
The coach of a high-level sports team run by the school is the core
Xue Yanqing said that from previous practice, there are at least three elements for a school to run a high-level sports team, and coach resources are the core of them.
"The first is that the school attaches importance to this. This is very important. The second is to have good coaches. This is a core. The third is related to the school’s emphasis, which is to have the supporting conditions to attract outstanding athletes. Xue Yanqing believes that, on the whole, the resources of excellent coaches in the education system are still relatively lacking and the foundation is relatively weak. At the same time, due to reasons such as establishment, professional title, salary, etc., some excellent coaches in the original professional system still have some obstacles to enter the school. He believes that if more schools pay attention to the development of sports activities and sports competitions, the supply of coaches will naturally follow when there is demand.
"This is also the same as the law of the market. When there is demand, there can be supply. So this is not only a policy issue, but also related to the overall development level of school sports," Xue Yanqing said.
Try to get through the competition system
For many years, the youth competitions (U series) of the sports system have been separated from the competition system of middle school and college students. Students in traditional sports schools are not eligible to participate in the competitions of the education system, and students from ordinary middle schools and universities rarely participate in the U of the sports system. Xue Yanqing said that in the context of the comprehensive promotion of the integration of sports and education, the University and China Sports Associations also put the opening of the competition system on the agenda when cooperating with individual associations.
"Both of us have mentioned this issue and are trying to change it. For example, the junior and high school basketball leagues held by the Sports Association are similar in time to the U16 and U18 youth competitions in the original sports system. All are willing to do a good job of top-level design, both division of labor and cooperation, and work together to do a good job in the selection, training, competition and other related work of young people. In addition, like football and basketball, our junior high school and college league level are relatively high, especially It’s the women’s team. Many of the female team members of the professional youth teams are students from our university team. There are also college students who have been selected as the national team. Now, we and the Football Association are also negotiating on technical improvement and providing convenience for these students. "
According to Xue Yanqing, in basketball, football and other sports, ordinary students and professional echelon athletes have tried to participate in some competitions in their respective systems. Take basketball as an example. The level of the quarter-finals of the college students’ league matches is similar to the level of the Chinese Basketball Association U21 matches.
