On December 10, the 2010 National Orienteering Classic and the first National University Campus Orienteering Tour finals continued to be held in Sanya, Hainan Province. Today is the second day of the competition. The competition is a team competition. Today's competition was held at Hailuo Farm, Sanya City. 66 participating teams selected representatives to participate in the team competition.
At about 9:00 a.m., more than 60 teams checked out at the starting point and assembled, ready to start. The athletes are full of confidence and ambition. At 9:30, the athletes began to set off in batches. In order to ensure the order of the competition, a group of athletes started every three minutes. The rules of team competition are different from those of yesterday's short distance and point competition. Each team sent four athletes to participate in the competition, two men and two women, who need to finish all points and return to the finish line within one hour. The results of missed points, overtime and entering the restricted area of the competition are invalid. Each team member in each group has a mandatory and free point, and the mandatory point must be completed by himself. After the completion of the task, the participating teams will gather at the last task point and punch in at the end of the race. On the premise of finishing all points, the team with the least time wins.
The reporter found that at the last task point, many teams of athletes were anxiously waiting for their teammates to return. The task allocation and team cooperation of team games are particularly important. The difficult points should be handed to athletes with strong ability to read maps and physical strength, otherwise they may not complete the task. Reasonable division of labor and close cooperation are the key to winning the orienteering team race.
Hu Jubo, a coach of Zhejiang Construction Vocational and Technical College, said that the team members of the Zhejiang team only completed the task 4 minutes ahead of schedule because it was the first time to participate in the team competition. However, the team members were quite satisfied with the result because of their good team cooperation ability.
