The 2013 National Student Orienteering Cross-country Championship was successfully opened

At 3:00 p.m. on August 16, in the loud national anthem, the "2013 National Student Orienteering Cross-Road Championship and the Ninth National Surveying and Mapping Geographic Information Staff Orienteering Cross-Road Competition" was grandly opened in the beautiful Zhongshan Memorial Middle School. The team competition was held on the first day. China University of Geosciences (Beijing) and Tianjin University of Finance and Economics were the champions of the men's elite group of universities, and Central South University won the champion of the women's elite group of universities.
The competition was approved by the Joint Secretariat of the Student Sports Association of the Ministry of Education and the China Mapping Association, hosted by the Orienteering Branch of the China University Sports Association, and hosted by the Zhongshan Municipal People's Government, and co-organized by the Guangdong Mapping Association, the Zhongshan Municipal Bureau of Education, and the Zhongshan Municipal Bureau of Sports.
The national student orienteering cross-country championship is the highest national student orienteering event hosted by the Ministry of Education. It is held once a year. It is also the only national university and middle school competition. This competition has 85 university teams, 49 senior high school teams, 37 junior high school teams and 36 surveying and mapping teams from all provinces and cities across the country, with nearly 2000 participants. The scale of the competition is large and the impact is extensive.
Liu Zhifang, Chairman of the Orienteering Branch of the China University Sports Association of the Ministry of Education and Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the China University of Geosciences (Beijing), Peng Zhenzhong, Chairman and Secretary-General of the Chinese Society of Surveying and Mapping, Wu Yuexia, Vice Mayor of the Zhongshan Municipal People's Government, He Jiebin, Deputy Director of the Zhongshan Municipal Government Office, Liu Chuanpei, Vice Chairman of the Zhongshan Municipal Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and Director of the Education Bureau, Liu Ruihao, Secretary of the Party Committee of Nanlang Town, Zhongshan City, Zheng Runyu, Director of the Zhongshan Municipal Bureau of Sports, He Youlin, principal of Zhongshan Memorial Middle School, and other leaders attended the opening ceremony.
Vice Mayor Wu Yuexia first delivered a speech. Vice Mayor Wu Yuexia said that the Zhongshan Municipal Government will fully support the Zhongshan Memorial Middle School to hold this competition. Vice Secretary Liu Zhifang and Vice President Peng Zhenzhong delivered speeches successively. They told about the international vision and significance of orienteering from different angles, and expressed their heartfelt thanks to Zhongshan City and Zhongshan Memorial Middle School for providing excellent service and elegant environment for the competition.
In his subsequent speech, President He Youlin said that Jizhong is very honored to host the competition for the second time. All staff of Jizhong will go all out to provide the most thoughtful and enthusiastic service for the competition, create a more suitable competition environment for the athletes, and strive to make the competition a harmonious, healthy, sunny and happy event.
